Information

The task
Create and build a ready-made-light that works with a bulb - or even better - a low energy light bulb.

The challenge
Your lamp should be built out of prefabricated parts that can of course be modified. Another condition: the costs for all parts (excluding cable, lamp socket and switch) should not exceed 40 Euros. And it should be possible for others to replicate the lamp.

Needless to say that the lamp should be beautiful and extraordinary...

Examples
Ok, our marmelade lamp idea is not new but it shows quite well the main principle: We bought 3 marmelade tins, ate a lot of marmelade and then drilled a hole in the tin. Through the holes we've put in the socket with the cable and screwed in a bulb.

Another beautiful example comes from dutch designer David Graas: His little table lamp "soda cup" is built out of simple soda cups and still it is pure and beautiful.
